about the hangman game

February 26, 2009

Hangman game is the most interesting and challenging word game that I ever played. I like it so much because it improves my vocabulary and solicits my mind. This hangman game appeals to my power of concentration, to my patience (if I am the one that writes the word to be guess, I need to be patient) and to my all-round education. I consider that is a much more simple version of ‘Chess’ – because you need to be focused in here, too.

‘Hanger’, like it was named in 1894 by Alice Bertha Gomme, it is so easy to play that a child can win it without having any problems. That is because of his rules that are very simple – all you need to do is to guess the letters of the word that the other player is thinking at. He needs to tell you the number of the letters in that word and to write the first and the last. When all those things are done you have a limited number of trials to guess that term. I say that your ‘movements’ are limited because every letter you miss is written down by your opponent and he needs to draw one element of the hangman diagram. When all the elements are drawn the game is over, but if you are smart and you guess the word, you win.

These are my strategies of playing, this is hangman. Now you can play it online and test your abilities. Success!

Learning Words the Hangman’s Way

March 6, 2009

My kid saw me playing this hangman game, sat on my lap and played with it. I guided her and gave her clues when I got an idea on what the word is. I get to choose six categories and I noticed that the words that are being asked in the game are not difficult to guess. [Learning Words the Hangman's Way]
